History of the Century Road Club of America
We are the oldest and most successful club in America. Founded in 1891, the CRCofA has been involved in competitive cycling for well over 100 years.
In all, 19 individual CRCofA riders, and one team, the CRCofA Raleigh Boys, have been inducted into the U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame.
We are proud of our Hall of Famers, as well as ALL other club members who have made the CRCofA so successful over the years.
Here is a list of the 19 individual members of the CRCofA in the U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame. Included are links to their Hall of Fame entries.
And here is a list of the most recent CRCofA inductee into the U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame, The Raleigh Boys Team (inducted in 2023).

The Race for the Yellow Jersey
“The Race for the Yellow Jersey” is an exceptionally well-done documentary from 1971 by Tom Spain about five riders from the Century Road Club of America guided by Fred Kuhn of Kopp’s Cycle in Princeton, New Jersey, training and racing in Canada. While it shares a name with the famous Tour de France prize, this film specifically chronicles a 365-mile bicycle race, the Tour Cycliste de L’Est, a demanding stage race through the highways and mountains of Quebec. It is rich with vintage race footage and rider interviews. Narrated by Jean Shepherd.
